We all face difficult times.
We may feel overwhelmed, stuck or disconnected, find some relationships challenging, or we may have suffered a significant loss.
Psychotherapy can help you find a deeper understanding of yourself through exploring your difficulties and concerns. We can work together to relieve distress and improve your wellbeing.
I work with a wide range of issues including anxiety, depression, anger, self-esteem, work-related problems, relationship difficulties, family issues and questions around identity and belonging. I have experience working with bereavement, including adolescent death, and existential questions about life, death and meaning. I have an interest in working with the impact of life-changing illness, from cancer to long Covid.

My approach is integrative, drawing on humanistic, psychodynamic and existential ideas. I believe that each person is valuable and deserves to be treated with respect, empathy and openness. Experiences in our early years can shape our thinking and behaviour in ways we are sometimes unaware of and becoming conscious of them can bring a deeper understanding of ourselves and clarity about the choices we have. Sometimes, it is the fundamental questions of life (and death) that take centre stage as we try to find meaning.
I work in a non-directive way, which means that I will let you take the lead and speak freely. You are the expert in your life and I will listen carefully and help you explore what troubles or worries you, working towards finding a more fulfilling way to be.
I am a registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and work within the ethical framework of the BACP and UKCP.

With a background in media, I understand that the stories we tell ourselves and others, including stories about our lives, can shape the way we understand ourselves and the world. It can be helpful to think about the language we use and explore if our stories still fit our experience.
Alongside private practice, I work for a community bereavement service.
